Visited Granny

photo 529860_415659001786300_1756754122_n.jpgIn the past few weeks the boys and I together with my sister had visited our grandma, my boys' great grandmother. She has been in and out of the hospital because of diabetes and perhaps of old age.  Her  is spirit is strong but her body is weak. All day, she's only setting down and cannot walk by herself anymore. My sister suggested that we get her a knee scooter. After reading several knee scooter reviews, my sister and I decided to buy one for our granny. This will surely give here the freedom to  mobile herself. As she lives country side, she loves going out to breath some fresh air and catching up with the neighbors, relative and friends. Now We will be saving for this and hopefully this pay day it will be delivered to my granny's house. It was really nice seeing granny after 3 years.

My Health

Photobucketphoto from cbc.ca I always put the health of my kids first, and do whatever I can to make sure that they lead a healthy lifestyle. However, while paying a lot of attention to their wellbeing, I often forgot about looking after myself. Until recently, I ate nothing but junk food; did no exercise and smoked regularly, and after a meeting with a doctor, I realised that my lifestyle was responsible for me being out of shape. While I’ve pledged to eat healthily and start working out, I know quitting smoking is going to be tough. However, there are several ways in which I, and you, can kick the habit: Use things like electronic cigarettes, nicotine patches and nicotine gums. If you want to quit, but still crave the nicotine which helped to make it so addictive, you could use any of those aids to help wean you off cigarettes for good. Think about the impact that smoking could have on your health. Smoking is known to cause breathing problems, stained teeth, coughing fits and, in extreme cases, diseases such as lung cancer. If that doesn’t persuade you to give up, what else will? Try and find something else to

Thank You Mira!

PhotobucketShe has been with us for more than three years. She’s a loyal helpline especially to my sister and later to my own family. For almost a year of trusting her our precious son, I find it hard to imagine life without her. She has been my son’s best friend and energetic play mate. She is an indispensable part of the family; since baby Z came, I was able to continue my online and offline works because she was there to stand in and make up for the house chores. Also sneaking out with hubby and friends would not be possible if she was not around to take care of the little ones. When I see her patiently taking care of my boys especially my eldest, I know for sure that she loves them. We will definitely miss you! Thank you and best of luck on your studies and we hope that you’ll find a greener pasture in the future. Our hearts and doors are always open for you. Be safe always!

Thank You My Dear!

PhotobucketTo think that surprises are not his cup of tea, I was not expecting that hubby has something for me this Mother’s Day. In fact in occasions like this it’s me who insinuates such ideas. That’s why, before I turn in for the night, I’d like to share his effort in making me feel special this Mother’s Day. Thank you Bhe for some sort of surprise! Although there were some flaws with your plans, and you are out there in the spotlight miles away from me, somehow you have bolted that feeling in me. I’d like to say Thank You to my dearest husband for giving me the ticket to this occasion and for making me the mother of your offspring. How I wish you are with us to celebrate this occasion. I miss you and I love you! Happy Mother's Day to All Moms in the world!

A Priceless Reward Being A Mom!

PhotobucketWhile everyone is celebrating Mother’s Day, we had to bring baby Z to the paediatrician early this morning due to high fever. The fever that keeps on coming back bothers me and I’ve been nursing the little one for two days now. Perhaps it’s because of the sore eyes which he also has right now. Good thing he remains energetic despite his sickness. The little one is having roseola a mild illness cause by a virus called human herpesvirus 6 which is common to children 6 to 24 months of age. The doctor requested for a CBC test and while waiting for the CBC result the little one and his titas (aunties) went for a stroll while I stayed at the clinic utilizing the free wifi. After 30 minutes of strolling, the little one and the titas returned and while approaching me, the tot handed me a bouquet of balloons. Aww! How sweet of you little one! That's the first present I got this Mother's Day and the first ever gift from my son! What a gratifying feeling seeing the little one with that cute present! Small things like this make motherhood undeniably priceless and fulfilling! Thank you baby and Tita Aina,

Lighting for Our Home

PhotobucketTo date, interior works for our tiny home is still in progress and I am still in the process of choosing the items that needs to be installed. Recently, I have been browsing IKEA’s website searching for the perfect lighting for the living and dining areas as well as the bedrooms. Oh by the way, I love everything in IKEA. How I wish we have IKEA show room here in Manila. I have to give two thumbs up to IKEA Malaysia’s online shop for bringing me closer to modern lighting designs and of course for the convenient window shopping. Hubby will be home in a few weeks time so I had to pick my choice so he could buy the item and bring it home. And after carefully dredging their products, I have chosen the lighting below.  I wanted to go for a chandelier for the living area, but with only a small space (more or less 15 square meters), more likely the living area will look too stiff with a chandelier on the ceiling. So I opted for the “pult ceiling lamp” with a steel base plate and a frosted glass shade which will give a glare-free light. On the

Preparing for his Arrival

PhotobucketI am nearly approaching my due date and in preparation, I have started to buy basic stuffs for our baby. I wasn’t able to keep those stuffs when we had our eldest as I hand them down to my cousin who gave birth few months after I gave birth to my eldest. I was able to catch the Baby Company Sale at SM Department store last month so I was able to save a few pennies. With our first son, most of the basic stuff we need was sponsored by our family and relatives so we didn’t spend too much money for it. I love shopping for the little ones nowadays, I seldom buy something for myself now unless its very important. There are few more stuff I need to buy I hope to have them before the end of this month. See you soon baby!

Baby Z is Saving!

PhotobucketTeaching our kids to save money is something that most parents overlook. As parents we should also give importance on teaching them how to save just as how we give importance on teaching them school lessons and other special learning activities. Perhaps it’s too early to teach Z to save money. But the earlier we teach our kids about saving, the more they become wizard on saving in the long run. I used to have piggy bank when I was a kid that was my way of saving some of my little “baon” I had for school. When harvest time comes, I would buy either new pairs of shoes, clothes or toys. Until now that I am a mom, I still have piggy bank but this time, I don’t buy new shoes or clothes during harvest, instead I keep the money to help me with extra household expenses. That’s my piggy bank tale. As early as one year old, I have introduced baby Z to his first piggy bank. Officially we are launching his piggy bank tale. It was fun seeing him enjoying dropping coins to piglet’s tummy. He would even ask for more coins once he gets through all

The Search for Proper Lighting

We have move in to our new house few months ago even if it’s not yet fully furnished due to lack of budget. But once we have the budget ready, I am sure we will be able to buy all the stuff that we need in the new house. Meanwhile, I have yet to figure out the proper lighting for our living and dining areas. As of the moment we are only using a tubular fluorescent bulb for those areas. And to enhance the ambiance and design of the areas, perhaps a modern chandelier will look best in our living area and pendant lighting will suit our dining area. What do you think? I still need to sit down and draft the design or at least browse the net for the latest and modern lighting design from different sites. Also, I'm gonna visit framburg lighting and thomas lighting which was recommended by a friend who just complete a residential project last year. I hope it will help me choose the right lighting for our crib. I am currently pre-occupied with some things, but I am hoping to accomplish this matter before February comes. Crossing my fingers. So help me God!

Spending Wise this Year and the coming Years

One of my goals this New Year is to spend our hard earned money wisely. I’ve been an impulsive buyer when I was single, when I became a mother; I learned how to tame down the impulsiveness in me however I still find it hard to maintain and spend with it my budget and find myself running out of money at the end. With the continuous price hike of the basic needs and with the current state of our finances I really need to spend wise and save more money for the family. So this year, I aim to get better in handling our budget and hopefully save, save and save. To help me with this goal, I have done some research and I’d like to share it for those moms or even singles who want to start saving and spend their money wise. Give priority on your needs rather than wants. Needs is something you absolutely need while wants is something not really necessary. Determine you budget. Decide your allotted budget on a specific need and stick with it. Always bring a list of what you need to buy when you do your groceries and as much as possible

Happy Christmas!

Christmas goes on for our family, even though hubby is miles away; which is why will be having a cyber-Christmas with baby Z’s dad. This is the very first Christmas that we are not together and it’s sad. But we don’t have to dwell in sadness so let’s have a merry Christmas folks. This year may not be smooth for us but still Thanks for all the blessings Lord! Aside from my family, my heart is also with the people of Mindanao who were greatly affected with typhoon Sendong. May this Christmas reminds them that there is always hope at times that they felt they are helpless. Praying for continues comfort and protection from the Almighty.

Another Boy is Coming

For this second pregnancy, hubby and I are hopeful that this time it will be a baby girl. We even claimed that it’s a girl and named her Zoe Aliyah. Today, I had an ultrasound today and unfortunately it’s a boy! We are having another masculine in the family and the little Z will be having a playmate and will be able to share and play the same toys with his little brother. Though we were dreaming for a baby girl, we are happy for this new blessing regardless of its gender. We are thankful for giving us another angel in the family and we are praying for good health for me and the new baby through out this pregnancy just like my first pregnancy. Thank You Lord!

Our Tiny Christmas Tree

PhotobucketChristmas Spirit is everywhere and Christmas trees are in every corner of the country. At home, to get in with the holiday season, I have put up a tiny Christmas tree for our tiny home and place it in the corner of our living area. The tiny tree will serve as a temporary shelter of my presents for the kids and the young at heart too. I love decorating our home during Christmas, how I wish I could put up a bigger Christmas tree in our house. The next thing I love this holiday season, is wrapping up gifts for the kids and placing them on the Christmas tree. I can’t wait to see the kids opening their gifts. I just love their reaction whether it is good or bad. It’s 10 days to go before Christmas!
