Road Trip to Jabel Al Jais Mountain

Last week, we had a chance to visit Jabel Al Jais Mountain in Ras Alkhaima with our Dgroup. Originally, we wanted to climb the rocky mountain for the rumored snow presence in the area. There was a trending picture on social media showing the snowy Jabel Al Jais Mountain. Prior to that road trip, I googled about the matter as I wanted to see more pictures just to contain my excitement. You know, to see snow is probably a common dream for people who lives in the tropics. So, googling, I then found out that the picture that was trending was an old photo, taken 7 years ago. So I was a bit skeptic of going, but I found myself with hubby and the kids at the highest peak of UAE on Friday morning. True enough, there was no snow, but the rocky mountain formation was stunning, such a breath taking view. It was around 9 degree early morning but we were geared up for that.

Embarking to this road trip will last for almost 3 hours drive from Dubai on an excellent & impressive road up the mountain. So if you are a road trip enthusiast, you’ll surely be entice to hit the road and perhaps glide┬áto the top of UAE’s highest peak and be treated with an ever breath taking view.

This trip was very timely for our preschooler as we study landforms.

Stunned as I was, I was again reminded how wonderful God’s creation.
