The Stars at A Glance

In Celebration of the 2012 National Astronomy Week, the Philippine Science Centrum and Sky Xplore (Mobile Digital Planetarium) sponsored a Stargazing Event held last Thursday, February 23, 2012 at the Amphitheater of the Riverbanks Center in Marikina City. A fellow blogger friend, Rhea, was invited by Ms. Karen of Philippine Science Centrum and she was so generous to extend the invites to few bloggers. I was lucky to be invited by her along with fellow bloggers Gene, Olga, Peh and Nina. Science was not a favorite subject, nevertheless I would still love to learn more about the stars and the planets. Also the proximity of the event to my place was a plus factor so I confirmed my attendance. The event which was facilitated by

Trying to be an Early Bird

I am not really a morning person, except those times that I really need to wake up early like when I was still a full time employee. Now that I am a stay at home mom, waking up early is a struggle (I sleep late, that’s why). Now, I need to get enough sleep and have enough rest so I am trying to sleep early for me to be able to wake up early and be able to exercise the following morning. This is something I really need to do now, since I am preggy. From the start of this pregnancy, most of my time is spent sitting down in front of computer doing online stuff. This is perhaps the reason why I feel lazy

How to Start your own Blog

Years ago, I used to visit and read blogs that I found interesting. I never had the guts to write and have my own blog at that time, as I don’t actually know where to start. When I get hooked with photography, that’s the time I thought of having a photo blog to showcase my work as a photography enthusiast. That time I was writing for my photos and shooting for my photo blog. Later, when I get pregnant with my first child, I decided to have my own personal / mommy blog, for me to archive the whole experience. From the time I got pregnant, delivered my baby, and now raising the little one, I am making a record of my daily encounter as

How Tall I Am?

The little one is getting taller everyday. He stands 2 feet and 5 inches at 1 year and 2 months old. Our babies first year is a time of amazing changes. Part of it is an increase in height and weight. On average, babies grow 10 inches in length and increase their weight three times their birth weight during their first year in life. After their first year, height growth usually slows with approximately 2½ inches per year until they reach adolescence. Child growth comes in a wide range so keep in mind that your baby’s growth maybe different from other babies. As parents, we can help our kids develop normal growth by ensuring proper nutrition which will give them the essential vitamins and minerals

Avoiding Constipation while Pregnant

Gosh, here it is again. I remember when I was eight months pregnant with my eldest; I had this dilemma in moving my bowel as I was constipated. I am six months pregnant and last night was a worst experience that I even asked my sister to buy me a suppository meds but the pharmacy needs prescription from a doctor. I just drunk lots of water and went to sleep. When I woke up this morning, glad it wasn’t as severe as last night so I was able to make it. Finally! Success! LoL. Though constipation is normal during pregnancy, there are ways in which you can avoid it. It is very uncomfortable to get constipated pregnant or not. To avoid it, make sure that

Get enough Calcium while Pregnant

When I was pregnant with my eldest, I regularly drink milk to help me gain enough calcium. Now that I am pregnant for the second time, I hardly drink milk. I suddenly don’t like the taste of the maternity milk I used to drink during my first pregnancy. Hubby makes the effort of reminding me to drink my milk, but without his reminder, I don’t bother drinking. So, how important calcium is while pregnant? While inside our womb, our baby needs calcium in building a strong bones and teeth. It is also helpful in developing a healthy muscle, heart and nerves. Most doctors prescribes calcium supplement to pregnant women. And aside from the supplement you can naturally get calcium from milk and dairy products such

Sunday Reflection: HE has Gifted you to Grow!

Did you know that God never created you to be average? He never created us to reach a certain level and then plateau. We should all know that God created us to excel and He wants us to know that there is no limit to how high we can go in life. There is no limit to what we can accomplish, if we only learn to shake off complacency and keep pressing forward to the next level. We maybe trying to succeed but have hit the walls again and again. Don’t stop dear! Try again. Keep going until you get what you want to achieve. It’s sad that there are many people who grow satisfied with far less than God’s best for their lives. We

Baby Z’s First Sunday School Experience

We came late for the church service this afternoon so we were left standing along with other members who came late. Since the little one was with us, the usher told us to bring him at the kids section for a Sunday school. Glad there is a room for toddlers (0-3 years old). My sister took care of baby Z while he attends Sunday school for the first time, and I went to hear the preaching at the big hall. After the service, I asked my sister how’s the little one doing during Sunday school. According to her, he is a little shy at first. He was conscious with the crowd and was always clinging to her. But as the school moves on, he
