Christmas Gifts

PhotobucketI really love Christmas when I was a kid, ask me why? Of course aside from the yummy foods at noche Buena, I love opening gifts from my parents, tito and tita and ofcourse from my ninong and ninang. Nowadays I don’t receive much gifts during Christmas, instead, I’m the one who give gifts on Christmas. This Christmas, it was nice seeing my little one receiving and opening his gifts. I was like a kid, very excited joining him opening the gifts. I love the feeling and being the Mom! This was his second Christmas, his first was when he was 22 days old. Look how he enjoy the gifts. Christmas is really fun with Kids! Till next christmas baby Z!

Happy Christmas!

Christmas goes on for our family, even though hubby is miles away; which is why will be having a cyber-Christmas with baby Z’s dad. This is the very first Christmas that we are not together and it’s sad. But we don’t have to dwell in sadness so let’s have a merry Christmas folks. This year may not be smooth for us but still Thanks for all the blessings Lord! Aside from my family, my heart is also with the people of Mindanao who were greatly affected with typhoon Sendong. May this Christmas reminds them that there is always hope at times that they felt they are helpless. Praying for continues comfort and protection from the Almighty.

Let’s Go Mommy!

Early this evening, I was preparing for a dinner date with my college friends as part of Mareng Ivy’s birthday celebration. I was almost done and was standing in the dining area, when the little one came to me walking, held my hand and walk towards the door. Gosh! My one year old knows I was leaving; he was even waving to his tita Mirs when he grabs my hands. He knocked the door and was pointing to the door knob. He wants to go with me. LoL. Today, he was properly introduced to brushing his teeth. I used to brush his teeth before but he doesn’t like it. I brushed my teeth in front of him, his tita ainz also did the same, and then suddenly he open his mouth and grabbed my hand with his toothbrush and put it into his mouth. I should have done this before, but anyways it’s not yet late to do so. I’m so glad that he likes fruits, especially banana, orange and grapes. He eats lots of them and don’t know the meaning of “full” yet; he likes to eat nonstop. Funny little one! I hope your appetite won’t change and you keep

Bridging the Learning Gap

With today’s normal classroom arrangement, it is impossible for the teacher to give individual attention to all students. And this is one reason why children sometimes missed important lessons in the class. That’s why as parents it is important to teach and nurture your child to bridge the learning gap and learn more than what he learn in the classroom. I’m looking forward of doing this thing when my son goes to school soon. Parents, who feel they are not capable or effective in tutoring their children, hire tutor for their kids. And what makes a good tutor? Make sure he/she is understanding and has extra-long patient. Most of all, he/she should have passion for children for them to be able to teach the kids very well no matter how hard it is to teach them. Although tutors need not be highly intelligent they should be proactive and be able to communicate their passion for teaching to their students. This will definitely bridge the learning gap from school. As parent, we desire nothing but the best for our children especially when it comes to education. It really pays nurturing your children and if you cannot do it you can always

Sunday Reflection: Where is God in Natural Disaster?

With the current tragedy that happened in Cagayan de Oro City, I can’t help but pray for the victims especially for the innocent victim of typhoon Sendong which are the children. I can’t hold on my tears seeing those dead pictures of children being circulated in a social networking site. I don’t have relatives in that area but I have friends online who lives in Cagayan de Oro and I praise God that they are alive. Though some of them lost their possessions but really praise God that no lives were claimed. In the midst of natural disaster where you see children are separated from their parents, lives being torn and hundred of people dead I think I can’t blame you asking “Where is God?” very sensitive question likewise sensitive to answer. There are event in the Bible which shows that God was involve in a disaster. The great flood in the time of Noah was sent by God. Perhaps the right question to ask is why does He allow them to happen and that question should be followed by a follow up question what lesson is to be learned. We are living in a sinful world, and so it

Another Boy is Coming

For this second pregnancy, hubby and I are hopeful that this time it will be a baby girl. We even claimed that it’s a girl and named her Zoe Aliyah. Today, I had an ultrasound today and unfortunately it’s a boy! We are having another masculine in the family and the little Z will be having a playmate and will be able to share and play the same toys with his little brother. Though we were dreaming for a baby girl, we are happy for this new blessing regardless of its gender. We are thankful for giving us another angel in the family and we are praying for good health for me and the new baby through out this pregnancy just like my first pregnancy. Thank You Lord!

Our Tiny Christmas Tree

PhotobucketChristmas Spirit is everywhere and Christmas trees are in every corner of the country. At home, to get in with the holiday season, I have put up a tiny Christmas tree for our tiny home and place it in the corner of our living area. The tiny tree will serve as a temporary shelter of my presents for the kids and the young at heart too. I love decorating our home during Christmas, how I wish I could put up a bigger Christmas tree in our house. The next thing I love this holiday season, is wrapping up gifts for the kids and placing them on the Christmas tree. I can’t wait to see the kids opening their gifts. I just love their reaction whether it is good or bad. It’s 10 days to go before Christmas!

8 Commonly Misused Words

Words Commonly MisusedI am an amateur blogger and not really a writer. However, I do try to write good and quality write ups not only for my reader but also for me to heighten my writing skills. It’s not easy and I admit that I spend time proofreading my write up. For me, proofreading is a must to make sure that I don’t misuse words (again) especially those words that sounds the same but spelled differently. Those words are really confusing and normally end up misused.  If you haven’t think of those words or you are totally blank about misused words, try to look at the infographics below and be familiar with commonly misused words. I carefully noted those words. See Bigger

My views on Additional 2 years Basic Education

The Department of Education proposed 2 more additional years for the current basic education which is 10 years, summing it up to total of 12 years basic education. This means, an additional hard work and struggle for students and ofcourse for parents too. I graduated and obtained a degree after studying 10 years basic education. It’s not only me, it’s all of us. With in the 10 years, I have felt the hardship and struggle of being a student and I think adding another 2 years in the basic education will be a burden for students and for parents. Currently, it is only the Philippines who’s under 10 years of basic education; 6 years in elementary/primary and 4 years in high school/secondary. This only means that we are left behind. Today, the trend all over the world is 12 years of basic education; 12 years of preparation for the future. This only mean that this move by the department of health is for the betterment of the education system in the Philippines and perhaps this move is due to the increase of quality and level of education globally. But this does not guarantee that we will constantly make competitive students.

Zoe’s First Swimming Experience

PhotobucketWe do have our neighborhood swimming pool but I haven’t taken the little one for a swim yet until this family gathering of my inlaws came. Last weekend even though the weather is not fine, hubby’s family went for a swim at Club Manila East as a family reunion. Hubby’s big bro kuya bong came home from Qatar and hubby was here for a one week vacation. Club Manila East is a theme park located in Taytay Rizal which is ideal for family bonding especially during summer. Entrance fee cost Php 350.00 and there are several accommodation to choose from. We stayed in private chalet which they call cavana costs Php 1500.00. When we arrive at CME, the little one keep on staring at the swimming pool where kids are swimming. Looks like he was curious with what they’re (the kids) doing. And so we let him experience his first swim. Look how excited he was. He was a little scared at first, perhaps the water was cold then eventually he enjoys it. It was really fun for the family especially for the little ones. Now we are thinking of taking him to our condo’s swimming pool atleast twice a
